Paris: the Eiffel Tower

After 8 hour journey by coach (or bus) from Amsterdam, we arrived in Paris! From the Euroline coach station, we took a tube from Gallieni to Volontaires station, which was nearby to the place we’ll be staying throughout the 3 days 2 nights journey. The rides took about 45minutes.

The weather was cold that day, the wind felt like sharp knives stabbing your skin. We got no idea where to go, ask around and were directed to Rue Borromee, the location of pre-booked hostel. We checked in, kept our heavy backpack, took a refreshing shower, get a good map and head down the road. The first destination……Eiffel Tower!! This tower used to be one of the 7 wonders of the world, and now, it remains the main attraction to visit Paris.

huh, finally!

Eiffel tower was about 40minutes walk from the place we stay. It was still early, around 9am and the crowd had already formed a long ques. There are two options to climb up the Eiffel Tower: stairs or lift. We chose stairs. Paid an entrance fee of Euro 3.17 and there we go, 700 steps awaits us. Well it was not actually 700 steps of misery because after 350 steps, you would find yourself at the first floor. There’s a cafĂ© for refreshment, souvenirs shop and an ice skating ring.

the ques..
you decide..to wait or to sweat..

the ice skate ring

halfway to go..

at last!

at the top.
My shoes weren’t in a good condition after the ‘backpack’ tour in Amsterdam but Alhamdulillah, it didn’t fail me. Yeah, we conquered Eiffel Tower!

the sole was eroded... I felt like walking on a cardboard

Since I’d only had biscuits, plain nan bread brought all the way from London and fries from McD, Gervanne and Joanne ‘Google’d some halal restaurant for me. I don’t mind eating biscuits all day. I always had issue with eating, I ate on impulse and usually I prefer not eating. By the way, thanks to them, we end up having kebab for dinner, 20 minutes walk from the hostel.

As expected...I did not finished the meal.

Later, we took a second trip to Eiffel Tower for night view.

the face that said 'I need bed!'
