Singapore marked as the fourth country that i've conquered this year. So we heard about this place called Universal studio in Sentosa Island Singapore...and luckily we stumbled upon a flight ticket with reasonable bargain. Off we (me, dilla, Kak vee and Kak Ju) to Changi Airport, Singapore. Since our focus is the Universal Studio Singapore (USS) alone, we did not really explore other places.

before i go on telling you what so good about this Universal Studio, let me just share on how to make your trip possible.

Paris : Bahasa Perghanchiss

Nak pergi France tapi tak tahu cakap perghanciss?? ape nak buat..oh no OH NO!!!!!

chills...I don't understand a word but still survived being there for 3 days.

BUT!

Better learn it or get a good dictionary or anyone who speak the language. In France, if you don’t know their language, you might have some trouble or unpleasant experienced. Ye la, bayang kan emergency nak cari toilet tak jumpa, tanya orang, semua bagi direction bahasa perghanchiss. idok ke naye di buatnye? (bak kata orang perak). Well it did happened to me, nasib baik orang tu tau cakap english. pheww!!

I admired how they preserved their language from foreign influence, particularly English. Just like Japanese. Bayangkan kat Malaysia semua bangsa boleh cakap bahasa melayu...kan bahagia (kerja kat wad..). Malangnya ada rakyat malaysia yang tak tahu berbahasa Melayu..so sad..by the way, yeah, people there rarely speak English, even at ticketing counter. They might know but they just don't bother. they think......

Paris: Accomodation

I’m sure, there’s plenty of good hotel in Paris, it all depend on your budget. For a low budget travel, travel lodge is the best option you have. At least that the only option we had. There are few hostel, with reasonable charges. We chose one called Aloha Hostel. We picked this one as it is the nearest to most of the main attraction in Paris.

Paris: the Eiffel Tower

After 8 hour journey by coach (or bus) from Amsterdam, we arrived in Paris! From the Euroline coach station, we took a tube from Gallieni to Volontaires station, which was nearby to the place we’ll be staying throughout the 3 days 2 nights journey. The rides took about 45minutes.

 The weather was cold that day, the wind felt like sharp knives stabbing your skin. We got no idea where to go, ask around and were directed to Rue Borromee, the location of pre-booked hostel. We checked in, kept our heavy backpack, took a refreshing shower, get a good map and head down the road. The first destination……Eiffel Tower!! This tower used to be one of the 7 wonders of the world, and now, it remains the main attraction to visit Paris.

A day in Amsterdam

The journey from London-France-Amsterdam took almost 12 hours. We took a coach from London, then board a ferry to cross the English Channel to France and then continue the coach ride to Amsterdam. It only cost around 38 pound sterling for that ride.

If you value time over money, other options to travel there from England are:

- train by Eurostar; it travels through English channel via underwater tunnel at high speed and very cool! 

- Airplane, if you are claustrophobic.

The Apollo Victoria Theater

Another activities that you might consider to do in London is to watch a play. Jujurnya, aku tak pernah tengok teater. professional teater. memang berhajat pun satu hari nak pergi tengok teater kat istana budaya. tapi belum jumpa naskah yang menarik. Memandangkan teater atau kat London more to broadway ni is a part of their culture, so we decided to watch it. well at least it was Gervanne who are eager to go....and I have to thank her for that. The show was really good. 

The play is called Wicked. It's a musical theater. Aku pun tak tahu jalan cerita nya macam mana sebelum tengok tak pernah google atau baca apa-apa review pun. dalam kepala aku, kalau teater english mesti nak tengok phantom of opera. Tapi tiket mahal. Jadi jumpa la show yang ni. Nasib baik dapat harga murah sikit. around 15 pound (originally 23pound)

sesuai dengan harga tiket tu, seat nye pun punya la jauh kat belakang. second last row. tu haa, jauh kat atas. 

huhu, secara keseluruhannya, saya bagi 5 bintang. haha. Sebab cerita dia fun, dialog kelakar, pelakon semua best2. Lagu dalam cerita ni sangat la best. semua pelakon pun boleh menyanyi dengan superb. Tak de langsung yang sumbang. The emotion can be felt in their singing. Best la. Part sedih rasa sedih part kelakar semua orang gelak.

jauh betul...boleh sewa teropong kecik harga 1 pound.... 

Dalam teater tu no camera are allowed during the show. so nak record atau ambik gambar memang tak boleh la. Orang yang kerja kat situ pun rajin meronda. yang pelik nya kat Youtube banyak pulak video orang rakam, siap ada 2hours full version lagi. adeh kelakar..so, thanks to them, now you can also watch this show.  

so, pe ke bendanya cerita Wicked ni???

pernah tengok wizard of Oz tak? aku tak pernah pun, tahu nama je. in case korang pernah tengok, dalam cerita wizard of Oz tu, ada character Glinda, the good witch of north dan the wicked witch of the east. teater Wicked ni berdasarkan dua karakter tu. 

untuk menjimatkan masa korang, tak payah google. ni haa, aku tengah rajin buat summary untuk teater Wicked ni. tapi ikut ape yang aku ingat la...

Elphaba (the wicked) dengan Glinda (the good witch) ni adalah dua orang yang sangat berbeza. Glinda popular, cantik and you can guess other package that comes with that. Elphaba pulak opposite, dia tak disukai sebab kulit dia hijau. YES. hijau macam shrek. tapi fizikal yang lain normal. depan orang dia kasar tapi dia baik hati. Elphaba ni ade seorang adik name dia Nessa (macam nama aku pulak) yang half paralyze dari kecik. Ayah dia tak suka Elphaba sebeb dia lahir out of wedlock. ( boleh bukak kamus ye cari maksud) so tugas dia kat situ sebenarnya utk jaga Nessa je. Tapi sebab dia ade talent utk jd witch, dia pun jadi student kat situ, Nak dijadikan cerita Glinda dengan Elphaba ni jumpa kat sekolah magik, pastu jadi roomate. mula-mula hubungan mereka tak baik tapi lama2 diorg jadi best friend.

tipikal la, tiap2 cerita mesti ada hero. So hero dalam cerita ni nama dia Fiyero, a prince who claims to have never think. hidup dia untuk enjoy. Glinda yang suka dengan Fiyero tapi last2 Fiyero suka dengan Elphaba. Elphaba ni memang talented dalam magik, Glinda tak. tapi malangnya Elphaba ni kene trick sampai dia dianggap witch jahat. semua orang tak percaya dia kecuali Glinda dengan Fiyero.

Fiyero bertunang dengan Glinda lepas Elphaba lari hilangkan diri. Tapi last2 bila dia jumpa Elphaba balik, dia pun decide untuk selamatkan Elphaba. disebabkan tu dia kene hukum ikat kat kayu pastu kene seksa sampai dia bagi tahu mana Elphaba.  Elphaba pun culik sorang budak perempuan untuk tebusan supaya diorang lepaskan Fiyero. tapi xkene layan. So she cast a spell that fiyero would not feel any pain inflicted on him. Maka Fiyero tu pun kene sumpah jadi scarecrow.

Glinda sakit hati, dia secara tak sengaja dah menyebabkan Nessa mati. Elphaba dapat tahu pastu diorang gaduh, tapi last2 dua2 boleh terima hakikat. Diorang still kawan baik. Lepas Fiyero xde, Glinda ni jadi kesayangan masyarakat kat Oz, so Elphaba tak nak rosakkan reputasi dia. Akhirnya, Elphaba suruh Glinda buat2 macam dia selamat kan budak perempuan yang Elphaba culik pastu hapuskan dia supaya tak ada orang yang dapat tahu yang sebenarnya diorang kawan baik. Glinda buat dengan berat hati. in the end, Elphaba sebenarnya hidup tapi dia menyorok dari Glinda dan hidup dengan Fiyero yang dah ditukar menjadi Scarecrow. Glinda jadi pemerintah kat Oz.

we decided to be bold and get ourselves to Amsterdam and Paris, without knowing any of their language. we did walking tour with heavy luggage on our back. walk around amsterdam. Today we reached paris.


Amsterdam was quite ok, most of them can response in english, but paris..phew...better get a dictionary or learn the language if you ever want to come here..headache!


haven´t slept in bed for 2 days and my leg can barely take a step. oh ya, kasut koyak. what are the odds. dah la barang mahal kat Paris ni. kalau la boleh jalan pakai selipar jepun je. huh, just need to push myself to keep on walking, only 2 days left here...

hari ini, kami telah menjejaki Florence Nightingale (FN). yup, we had found the Florence Nightingale Museum. yay! It is situated in Lambeth Palace Road, if you ride a bus, stop at Waterloo station and within ten minutes walk, there you are, The Florence Nightingale's Museum!

yeah, gagahkah diri meredah angin sejuk, lagi dua minit nak sampai nih..

touch down!

after the flight delayed for 20 minutes, and what it seems like never ending flying hours (13 hours on board and bored..!!)

finally, we're in UK!!

ok this is in LCCT, before checking in the luggages..

 our flight took of around 10am in morning from Malaysia. the flight was arrange in a three column with 9 seats for every row.  i was seated next to a blonde lass with her father, while Gervanne and Joanne sat near to each   other. throughout the journey, the young girl was actively talking to her father in her British accent, which sublimely enters my mind while i slept. [ yeah right :') ] Later, I started to sound like them. a bit.

killing the boredom with psychology facts..

upon arrival at Gatwick Airport around 4pm in UK (that is 8 hours later from Malaysia), we quickly check in the UK border, with my backpack killing my spine and palpitation, worrying that we will face the same things that happen to our previous senior. (they were detained for almost 12 hours due to visa). turns out that the officer was nice, and we had no problem passing through!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

then we collect our luggage and find our way to the tube that heads to Victoria station and directly to our final destination, King's Cross. however, the train were not available on weekend. ad so these three little creatures among those tall british people; with bags who weigh fit enough to make your spine suffer, had to take detour. the other option left is to go to London Bridge station from Gatswick Airport, find the tube that heads to King's Cross (it is in the northline!) and from King's Cross, take a bus to where we were staying right now.

'jet lag' face, it was already 1am in Malaysia around this time..I haven't slept much.

one thing that fascinate me about people in UK is their willingness to help others.at first we were being cautious not to let strangers took our bags, but it seem though they are not only offering the help to us, but also to local people in need. hmm, i guess, it's just their culture.


so to cut thing short, here we are, finally in our residential place, somewhere in Stoke Newington, UK. It's 2 am in UK now and my fingers are freezing. till then!

seat paddle boat ni panas gila..nyaris tak dapat second degree burn...10 minit pertama mengayuh dalam kesengsaraan, tak senang duduk jadinya...

if you are in for recreational purposes, put on you sports attire and hit the road. there are loads of activities here, you can cycle, paddle, fishing, canooing, jungle trekking, name it. and bring extra clothing, just to be safe!

if you're in for photoshoot, wear anything that make you feel good, the landscape here is wow!!

Makan @ Penang

(this update is rather late; i am now happily at home.. but oh well, who cares??)

Hari ni secara rasmi nya, aku dah tak tak ada duit!! ni semua gara2 berjalan sakan dekat Penang. walaupun kebanyakannnya kakak aku yang belanja (hehe thank you No!) tapi duit aku tetap habis. adui, cukup2 je bajet. haa...cerita pasal makanan, buat pertama kalinya aku pergi Penang tanpa makan kat restoran nasi kandar. saje ubah angin. sepanjang berada kat Penang, perut aku terisi dengan makanan2 yang sedap je. meh sini aku rekomen sikit kedai2 makan yang best.

1. Pak Hussin Tom Yam

masakan ala thai. macam2 pilihan ada. tapi menu pilihan hari tu tomyam ayam, siakap tiga rasa, nasi goreng ayam dan ayam manggo. servis not bad, kalau order air memang cepat sampai. waiter yang hantar makanan pun bergerak pantas, macam nak lari pecut seratus meter je. rasa???? yummy!!

2. Bistro Route 69

chicken chop + iced mocha = kekenyangan

sajian makanan ala barat. selain tu ade jugak menu lain macam nasi goreng yang macam2 jenis. menu pilihan. Chicken Chop BBQ and Ice Mocha. menu lain yang berbaloi untuk cuba : Grilled Chicken Chop, Sweet n Sour Chicken Chop, Chocalate ice blended. Nasi goreng Ayam pun sedap jugak. lokasi, Bandar Perda, Seberang Prai. 

3. NASH Doughnat

untuk die hard fans donut berperisa macam Big apple, Dunkin' Donut, dan yang sewaktu dengannya, NASH Donut ni memang berbaloi untuk di cuba. rasa pun setanding dengan Big Apple. merupakan produk bumiputera. (sokonglah makanan tempatan!!) harga pulak sangat2 murah, RM1.60 je untuk sebijik donut. pilihan pulak tak payah cerita la, memang banyak. selain donut, makanan berat seperti mee bandung turut dijual.

  Ice blended pun ade, murah pulak tu, RM5.50 jer. kalau nak beli pastri dan kek pun ade. berbaloi-baloi untuk di cuba. lokasi : Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam belakang Jusco, seberang jalan dari outlet Bank Islam. cawangan lain ada sekitar utara je, dekat Taiping, Perak, Sg Petani dan Jitra,Kedah. kalau nak tahu lagi lanjut, boleh tengok website ni. (wah, macam promoter pulak!!)

HAH, nak yang mane, cepat pilih, pastu bayar sendiri~~

tak semestinya pergi Penang makan nasi kandar kan??! hehe, baru aku teringat, aku nak makan Char Kuey Tiow..cam mana boleh terlupa..ish x3~~

hari selepas exam...

tak puas rasanya berjalan2 kat I-City, jadi kembara melepaskan tension bersambung di Putrajaya. yeah, jalan-jalan di sekitar Taman Botani, menghirup udara segar dan membiarkan kulit di sinari cahaya matahari.. cuaca baik wooo, sampai rasa macam bley dapat sunburn. 

sebenarnya destinasi asal nak pergi pameran MAHA kat UPM Serdang. tapi setelah melihat barisan kereta yang MAHA panjang di tol UPM, maka hajat pun tak kesampaian. haha, bayangkan pukul 10.30 pagi dah jam macam tu wooo. haha, next time la. tak dapat la jumpa ayah kat sana.

lepas tu lokasi kedua berjalan2 sekitar Putrajaya. Nak cari Wetland. aku pun tak tahu ape yang ade kat Wetland tu, tapi mengikut kata Kak Sha, tempat tu cantik kalau bergambar. nak jadikan cerita, dah nampak da Wetland tu, tapi seruan dari perut yang minta diisi lebih di utamakan. jadi singgah la kami di pizza hut untuk isi 'tangki'. hehe, ingat tangki minyak kereta je kene isi??!

malang tak berbau, rupanya selepas itu, kami hanya bertemu dengan signboard Wetland je, tempatnya tak jumpa2 dah..setelah buat pusingan sebanyak...aaa...berape kali ek???, akhirnya kteorg pun surrender.

serius, kalau cuaca hari tu redup, tak tahu la pukul berapa baru kteorg balik. anyway, the view there was WOW! for nature lovers, it's worth it to be there.

WAAAAAA!!!! dah habis exam! bermakna dah habis semester 5. cepat nya masa berlalu. seperti yang dirancang, sesudah exam final paper dengan pantasnya kami bergerak ke lokasi yang ingin diserang.

I-CITY SHAH ALAM!!!

yeah, setelah merasa diri diselubungi kegelapan dek kerana tak dapat nak jwb soalan exam dengan baik, (waa, paper nursing theory~~should i mourn??) lawatan ke 'bandar cahaya' ni sedikit sebanyak boleh meneutralkan kegelapan tersebut.  disebabkan semangat berkobar2 untuk menjejakkan kaki di I-city, maka tibalah kami pada pukul 5.30 ptg di tempat kejadian. haha, tak menyala lagi lampu, hujan renyai2 pulak tu. 

bila dah hujan, perut pun mula berdendang. akhirnya, tiba la kami di UITM Shah Alam. lokasi untuk berteduh dan mengisi perut yang dah memberi signal.

 there's just whole lot more to show. so if you are eager to know what else I-City have to offer, why don't you take a stroll down there and experience it yourself. it worth it!! 

sebagai peringatan, tolong datang selepas matahari tenggelam~~ kalau tak lampu tak menyala. hehe, to be safe, do come as early as possible or you'll end up in a long que to take pictures in specific placesthat being offered to you. we got to choose animal land or snowland, and we go for snow..yipee!
