strangers with obligation

There she lied, confined on a caged bed. As part of her safety caution so they say. In her own isolated unit. Sometime visited by strangers with duty, seldom by her own flesh and blood. Help being offered to ease her burden but almost always, she insist on doing things with her own two hands. Stands, even crawl on her own two feet. She wants to keep being independent. But she's too weak. The strive to be independent always end to no avail. She was always helped.

until one day, out of the blue, she found strength.

the strength to free herself from her caged bed and to the toilet. No one knows how. Perhaps, driven by panicked. Panicked of the sight of blood that she just coughed out from her ailing lung. But...she's too weak. The place where she stood was now the ground where she laid.

Still, she was saved. By none other than strangers with obligation.

Her strength's wearing thin. Coughing out blood became a routine. Still, she seldom seek for aid nor attention. Seldom visited by those who supposed to love her unconditionally.

Then came the day,

Coughing became unbearable. Blood spurted out beyond her limit to tolerate. She no longer possess the will to fight. She was pulse-less.

Still she survived.

But hardly living. Breathing initiated by machine...heart still pumping thanks to medicine. and the rest was under He the All Mighty to control. Visitors came....just to visit...

She fought to survive. and those strangers, had no longer possessed any power to do anything. She was no longer allowed to be saved. Her life is now in the hand of the All Mighty.  Blood pressure steadily decline, pulse became gradually weak...until none of those vitals were detectable. Two days were her limit. Her final destination had arrived.

As she stared at death, only those strangers were by her side. Strangers who were not there because it was part of their obligation, but stayed for they were morally driven.

For they believe..

No body deserve to be alone when their time is up.
